Back to School Keepsake | Free Printable

I’ve been secretly working on a very special project that’s close to my heart. 🥰 I’m putting together keepsake boxes for each of my grandsons.

My goal is to create a treasure trove of memories that they can look back on when they’re older (and hopefully share a laugh or two with their own families).

As part of this project, I designed a Back to School Keepsake Printable that’s perfect for capturing those first-day-of-school memories.

It’s a simple, single-page worksheet where kiddos can jot down their favorite things, what they’re most excited about for the year, and even add a photo. Imagine the fun of comparing these sheets year after year! 🎒

Since this time of year is all about new beginnings, I wanted to share this Back to School Keepsake Printable as a freebie on the blog. Whether you’re putting together your own keepsake box or just want a fun way to document your child’s (or grandchild’s) school year, this printable is a must-have. I’ve always been a sucker for back-to-school supplies (those new notebooks and fresh pens give me life! 🖊️), so creating something like this feels extra special.

You can grab your free copy below. I’m sure it’ll be a hit with your kiddos too!

Bonus Organizer Printable: Available on Etsy

If you’re anything like me and you’ve got a mountain of school papers piling up, I’ve got you covered. I also created a School Paper Organizer Set that’s available in my Etsy shop.

This multi-page PDF is a lifesaver for organizing all those treasured documents in a neat and stylish way.

I suggest using manila folders —attach the cover page to the front of the folder, the information page on the inside, and add items you collect throughout the year. 📂

Having a separate folder for each grade makes it super easy to keep everything organized. And of course, there are matching labels for the folder tabs because, well, you know how much I love a cohesive look! 😍

It includes Head Start through 12th Grade and you can check out the full organizer set in my Etsy shop [here].

I hope you enjoy these printables as much as I enjoyed creating them. Let’s make this school year the best one yet, full of wonderful memories and a little bit of crafty organization magic! ✨

SUPPLIES I RECOMMEND FOR PRINTING

A PRINTER

If you’re going to be printing in color, I really recommend investing in an HP Instant Ink-compatible printer. The quality of the finished product is amazing! If you don’t need a color printer, I highly recommend a laser printer like the Brother L23 Series. You will save hundreds on ink. You can also get a color laser printer which I would LOVE to have!

PAPER

For everyday printables, planners, and coloring pages for the kiddos I normally use Hammermill Printer Paper, 20 Lb. I love that you can get a small box of 3 reams instead of having to buy one at a time or a whole case of 10.

If I want something a little nicer, I use this laser paper which is incredibly smooth and has very little to no ghosting on the other side. This is perfect if you like to use pens/markers that are prone to bleeding through to the other side.

For printing on A5 paper, I use this Blank 6-Hole Punched A5 Paper. You can also get it without the holes but it’s $6-7 more. Which I think is odd because it’s usually the other way around and you have to pay more for the hole punching.

If you're printing a binder cover that is fade-resistant and lasts a long time, I would recommend the best paper using Epson Presentation paper. It's heavy like cardstock (48 lb), is great when laminated, and is made to last for decades.

Do you have a printable or planner request? Let me know in the comments below and I will see what I can do. I’m so happy you stopped by today! Thanks ❤️
