A Clean & Simple Scrapbook of Our Trip to Seattle
I have been scrapbooking for over 20 years and have dozens of albums but this one that I made for our trip to Seattle is absolutely my favorite!
I decided to use this pretty red fabric, 6 x 6 album and came up with a plan. I like to keep my pages clean & simple without too many embellishments. The main reason for making a scrapbook in the first place is the photos and I feel when the pages are filled with embellishments, those photos get lost and so does the story. But scrapbook design is an entirely different post, so for now, let's check out my Seattle Scrapbook :)
I had already made a 12 x 12 scrapbook of the trip and gave it to my dad but I really wanted one for myself. I chose my favorite pictures from the trip and decided to print them in wallet size. This was a genius idea if I do say so myself! ;) Because of the smaller size, I really didn't need to crop any of them which also kept a very uniform look to the entire book.
I divided our vacation into 6 categories, one for each activity, or subject of our stay in Seattle. Then I made a contents page and color coded the categories. The image below shows the contents page and the title pages for each section of the scrapbook.
I love that all the inner pages follow the same format too. This creates a uniformity that my OCD loves!!!
Each section includes the title page and at least, one 2-page spread with all of the pictures from that activity.
I also included a journaling block to each section explaining the pictures and what we were doing.
These pages that show our days spent sight seeing are my favorite! Pike's Place Market is the one of the best places to be and I wish I could go there every day to buy fresh flowers, fruit and veggies. Oh, and don't forget the fish, fresh from the ocean. Plus, we got to visit the very first Starbucks which was pretty darn cool!
